Black Mountain is a small rural residential locality which was officially named on the 5th June 1998 after one of the prominent features of the area – the high point upon which sits several communication towers which service the Noosa Hinterland. The size of Black Mountain is approximately 32.6km2 and the suburb has nine parks which cover nearly 8.8% of that total area! Black Mountain is situated 20kms from Noosa and 130kms from Brisbane.
